When developing websites for other creative artists - photographers, musicians, painters, etc - it often pays to keep the site itself minimal, so that the work itself can take full precedence. Such is the case with the Greenspan Kohan site.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

A new Flash site to celebrate 10 years in business for Greenspan Kohan. These are the guys that manage such big name composers as Marco Beltrami, Adam Berry, Mark Mothersbaugh, and many others. The site is visually minimal, yet contains a lot of complex programming and a LOT of content. Every artist represented gets their own mini-page that includes photo, bio, music samples, videos, credits (with poster graphics), and more.

Adam Berry's website showcases the variety of scores he has composed for film and TV. It's professional and sleek design includes features such as an mp3 player and xml driven content to make our updates easier. Listen to some of the work, its great :)

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

I do so enjoy making sites for fellow musicians. And this was extra cool because I was actually already familiar with, and a fan of this guy's music. Adam Berry, who got his start writing music for South Park, and has just accelerated from there to do a ton of stuff for Disney, Nickelodeon, and beyond.

Site features streaming MP3s, streaming video, XML-driven content for easy updating, and a minimalistic black and white fullscreen site design.

The OneUps
VIDEO GAME MUSIC BAND

The fullscreen motif for website design really only works when you have quality photography to work from. In the case of the website for The OneUps, we had amazing shots taken from concerts, press events, and more to work from, which really brings the site to life like nothing else would.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Ah, this one was fun. A whole new look for the website of one of my favorite video game music bands, the OneUps. Site features a very cool streaming MP3 player, an in-depth online store, photo and video galleries, and more. Site is built in a full-screen style to adapt to the dimensions of the screen, and features alternating background pictures. And the music is awesome, so check it out!

Atrium Music Group
ONLINE MUSIC LIBRARY

This is one monster of a site! Atrium is packed with intricate XML, customized search engines, submission forms and a fully categorized music library with thousands of options for genre, instruments and lyric selection. Needless to say, this one beautiful masterpiece.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

After working on several other websites for a client, we discussed the possibility of creating an online archive for music samples, songs and effects. What you see is what we came up with. A fully functional and powerful library that anyone can utilize for their projects. Take a look, we're pretty proud of it!

Bad Dudes
VIDEO GAME REMIX GROUP

Full screen PHP site for a musical group, with small Flash players built into the design to play MP3 files.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Here we have a group of kickass musicians. I'm one of them. And we are pleased to present a new Metroid project in the works, "METROID ARRANGE 25TH ANNIVERSARY ALBUM". There are also plenty of other free downloadable EPs, and of course our famed "CHRONOTORIOUS" album

Design-wise this is me experimenting with full-screen HTML coding and the possibilities there... dabbling with more mobile-device and phone-friendly stuff.

Brynner Agassi
DRUMMER AND PRODUCER

This site features are cut and clean. Brynner's page shows animating page transitions, downloadable music, a customized video player and much more. Take a look....

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Another site for my fellow musician Brynner Agassi. This design takes advantage of the full screen, features faux-3D effects, streaming music, a custom video player, and even a dual-track MP3 player with the option to turn the drums/music tracks on and off.

William Reyes
CLASSICAL GUITAR PERFORMER

It's true, simplicity can often be trickier to pull off than complexity. For the William Reyes guitar website we needed to do that - make it all fit in page, get all the information across, and do it elegantly.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

A simple one-page site for my friend William Reyes, talented guitar player and member of the OneUps. He needed a place to showcase his solo performance for weddings and other special events, testimonials, and so on. The challenge was to make something that was classy and elegant, yet still masculine.

Dudley Saunders
SINGER/SONGWRITER

An unusual site for a most unusual musician. Americana meets surreal and gritty with the folky stylings of singer songwriter Dudley Saunders.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Stylistically, this one was really hard to get right. Dudley wanted something that was both old Americana, and modern at the same time. And the amount of stuff they wanted on the screen at the same time was rather difficult, so I had to give it some very complicated and unique full-screen programming.
The end result is one-of-a-kind, features a great deal of content, streaming MP3 player, download capability, video, and much more.

Also, the site pulls in data from several outside sources and meshes them seamlessly with the custom design, inlcuding blogs from MySpace, status from Twitter, upcoming shows from ReverbNation, and more. Pretty tricky to figure out, but worth it.

INDYKLEZ
WORLD MUSIC BAND

It's exceedingly difficult to make a digitally created website look like real life, but when it works, the payoff is so worth it.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

This was another case where my first draft was too conventional for them, so then I created this puppy. This was very challenging but fun; the items in the suitcase come to life and become the pages once you click them. Site also features streaming music, and 3 backgrounds to choose from.

And go buy their album, if you like Klezmer - or any world music for the matter - you'll enjoy it.
