VISUAL EFFECTS

Very Clean and direct. This is what we wanted to convery with Chemical Effects' site. Their impressive portfolio pops with slick page tranisitions and super fast video players we designed. Enjoyable project to work on, awesome videos!

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

This here's a site that is much more complicated than it looks. It took a ton of work just to get to this minimal, simple look and design.

The fun with this one is in the transitions. The website itself will rotate, spin, and slide around to land on the correct page. A neat effect, and particularly difficult to do with several embedded video players worked into the design.The focus here is the video content itself, which ranges from car commercials, to music videos, to award-winning videos for Pepsi. Very cool videos, check them out.

 

Adam Berry - Film and TV Composer
MUSIC

Adam Berry's website showcases the variety of scores he has composed for film and TV. It's professional and sleek design includes features such as an mp3 player and xml driven content to make our updates easier. Listen to some of the work, its great :)

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

I do so enjoy making sites for fellow musicians. And this was extra cool because I was actually already familiar with, and a fan of this guy's music. Adam Berry, who got his start writing music for South Park, and has just accelerated from there to do a ton of stuff for Disney, Nickelodeon, and beyond.

Site features streaming MP3s, streaming video, XML-driven content for easy updating, and a minimalistic black and white fullscreen site design.

The Feel Good Film Festival
FILM FESTIVAL

Warm colors, cheery and happy. This is the feel of the fesival, so that is how the site was designed. This site showcases the fesitvals films', awards, sponsors organizers and more. Specialties include XML driven galleries, nifty page animations and custom graphic design to give it a "good feel" :)

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

A revamp for 2010 of one of my first clients, the Feel Good Film Festival, which was founded by my old friend Kristen Flores. New design features a full-screen motif with much easier to navigate content, and lots of it. The same general feel is there that was in the last one, but 'tis now much brigher and cleaner.

 

Moving Stream Productions
FULL SERVICE VIDEO PRODUCTION

The guys that came up with film 'Rock Slyde' gave us another call to build them a site to show off their production company. We put together a very unique set of pages that have instant video players and shuffle in transition when selected. Great people to work with, they know what they're doing and how to do it right..

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

This site was fun, but also a little tricky. We needed to come up with a solid breanding /look for this company while constructing the site. And luckily, we got it pretty quick. Nice blues with suttle greens add a great effect to the 'stream like' effect we were going for. Definitely look forward to doing more work with them soon..

 

Rock Slyde
FEATURE- FILM NOIR COMEDY SPOOF

Rock Slyde's website uses a several animated photo galleries, creative loading screens and multiple links to help promote its DVD. The Flash covers the look of a classic movie poster, while still conveying the spoof and comedy aspect of the movie..

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Like many film projects, this design was based primarily around the movie's poster. When I came on board everything was ready, which is helpful. Of course, I took the various elements from the poster and brought them to life, with the sliding photos, running guy stuck in a cone, and so on. It's a funny movie yet still rooted in the film noir style, so the site isn't overly fancy, but still fun and effective.

Courthouse Girls
DOCUMENTARY

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Remember that big scandal a few years back with all those old ladies getting naked for a calendar so they could save their local courthouse from demolition? This is the film about that whole fiasco, a documentary put together to remember the event and follow what happened thereafter.
Site is somewhat Monty Python-esque, as I played with the aspect of old ladies hiding behind things, and the whole sign motif from the poster. Site features streaming music, video, photo galleries, bios of those involved, and more.
You can also buy the film through the site, and if you like documentaries then I recommend it. It's both funny and moving. It's also a film festival favorite.

Relentless Filmworks
DEMO ACTORS REELS

Relentless Filmworks' site is simple, yet very effective. It shows a large streaming video screen that plays numerous samples of their work. Pricing, contact and links are also featured.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

A minimalist design that capitalizes on a large video player, with several streaming videos for review. Site also features CMS for easy client-side updating.

Angela Soper, Rangewriter &
Maisie, Dog Actor
WRITER /FILM MAKER /ANIMAL ACTOR

This is a proffesional, yet fun site for a very talented writer and her pet dog (who is also an actor). It uses an array of sharp photos that animate on button actions within a very interesting layout. Over all, it was an extremely cool project to be part of.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Angela's a great client because she allows me to take an idea and run with it. The concept here was to make the site look like an actual writing desk. It worked out really well, and all the site content is displayed on paper right from the typewriter.
The site contains info on Angela, the films and projects she's worked on, and her dog Maisie, an animal actor. Content includess photo galleries, video clips, and lots of text.
Incidentally, if you ever need a writer for your project, I highly recommend her work. Very professional, easy to work with, and delivers quality work in fast turnaround time.

Dream Networks
FEATURE FILM

Dream Networks is a suspense feature film that our team helped promote by building their flash website. In keeping the integrity and feel of the film, Mazedude used eerie/nightmarish graphics, jaw dropping animations and ghost like projections of the crew and cast in the photo galleries. Definitley makes you curious to check out the flick!

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

My first movie website in a while, this one was actually tricky to visualize, as the film itself is currently in pre-production and I had absolutely no images to work from. Just a few tidbits of ideas from the script, and a general mood to set. Thusly, only a few pages have content so far, and this one will probably go through a great deal of change and enhancement as the project comes together.

Escape Films
VIDEO EDITING

A simple, yet snazzy flash website for a small film pre & post production company.
It contains personalized graphics, a custom video player and a modern chic look. Giving a very professional look, for a very professional editor and writer.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

A simple site for my friend Jeanette, showcasing her abilities, her demo videos, and who she is. A talented editor, should you need one.

The Rainbow Tribe
FEATURE FILM

This award winning films' website is chock full of animations and video. Keeping the feel of summer camp, our team utilized star filled skys, the northern lights and shots of cast in the woods. It also features sliding page transitions, blog links and mp3 music.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Multiple-award winning film "The Rainbow Tribe" has a lot going on in its website. Sound effects, different backgrounds for each page, aurora borealis video textures, cast and crew bios, photos and video, and much more. Site is built in an irregular wood frame to match the camping vibe carried throughout the film.

This one was very tricky to get right. While it is a feel-good camping movie, it's also got plenty of edgy and crude elements, and the site needed to reflect that. Hence the video clips from the film for each page transition. :)

Michael Hackett: Editor
VIDEO EDITOR

Michael Hackett is a premiere video editor for commercials and film. We designed him a clean and sharp site to show off his extensive portflio. Using a minimalist approach, the site displays a custom video player, easy to navigate menu and roll over buttons.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

As many sites for media artists do, this site keeps the design of the layout simple, so as to let the viewer focus entirely on the work. The work in this case consists of several streaming videos, presented in HD! The navigation is also mouse sensitive, and all videos are given a customized loading system for optimized speed. Site also has a content management system in place so that Michael can add videos on his own as new projects are completed.

Dandelion Dharma
SHORT FILM

The Dandelion Dharma website project is one that we are proud of. This site jumps off the screen with beautiful animations and sleek transitions. It also has several extensive photo galleries of the crew/actors and nice music playing in the background...check it out!

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

This here is a website for a short film, with more content and info per cast member than most feature films get. Each key member of the cast and crew has their own page with bio, photos, even IMDB and website links where applicable. Site also features a very fun dandelion seed animation, streaming music and video, and much more.

Mitropoulos Films
FILM MARKETING & DISTRIBUTION

Mitrolpoulos Films is a film marketing and consulting firm based out of Beverly Hills, CA. Their newly crafted site revolves around their extensive experience and expertise in the business. Showing their video reels, XML driven client galleries and unique vision to promtion.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

This is a rather simple widescreen site, but with plenty of complex elements. Streaming FLV video, XML-driven film display complete with synopsis, photos, trailers and more, and a password protected press section. Site also features smooth sliding page transitions and a cool rippling water effect under the logo.

Mating Dance
FEATURE FILM

Mating Dance is a classic cop-romance thriller. The Flash website we designed to help promote this film uses an elegant, yet mysterious aesthetic. It shows off several photo galleries, animated buttons and a video player to play its trailer.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Another award-winning film: Mating Dance, directed by Cate Caplin and starring Lauren German. This is another film that crosses genres, and needed a website to match it accordingly. So, the site is both dark and beautiful, with an iconic shot of the stars dancing as a bed for everything else to go on top of.
Site is built in a fullscreen style, designed to stretch to the full size of whatever monitor you're on. Content includes cast and crew bios, video, photos, and more.

Go Cheeta
ANIMAL ACTOR & ARTIST

Fun and colorful. These were the two design aspects we stressed with Go Cheeta's site. We added a paypal shopping cart, videos and numerous photos to help promote the famous chimp from the Tarzan movies! Hopefully he gets his well deserved star :) ....

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

This site exists as part of a campaign to get Cheeta - the animal star of the original Tarzan movies - a star on the Hollywood walk of fame. Furthermore it is where you can buy original animal art by Cheeta himself, through the Paypal shopping cart.
Site has campaign info, a petition, videos, photos, all sorts of cool stuff. And, some fun animation at the beginning. :)

Hoofta Productions
PRODUCTION COMPANY & RENTAL HOUSE

This is a newly revamped site for one of Florida's top Production and film equipment rental houses. These guys do it all. In order to show their well rounded repetoire, we made sure to include numerous videos of their work, easily updated XML content and slick page turnovers. Take a look..

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

This is another one of my early sites, and still stands the test of time. Hoofta Productions is a Florida based production company and rental house, and does everything from shorts and commercials to full-length features.

Site features full-screen video (and lots of it), an online rental form, animated transitions, and much more.

Frederic Goodich, ASC
CINEMATOGRAPHER

This is a crafty site that implements a lot of video, since Frederic is a cinematographer. Simple and to the point, this site features a scrolling video tab that the viewer can easily review his work.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

Another site with lots of video! In fact, no matter where you go in the site, there's a ready-access scroller of video clips on the right hand side, showcasing the scope of Frederic's work. This one also features full-screen video.

Susan Senk Public Relations &Marketing
FILM AND TV MARKETING AND DISTRIBUTION

Utilizing strictly 3D animated buttons, this flash site's sleek design captilizes Susan Senk's extensive work and achievement in the AD PR world. It's creative layout shows the companies' proffesional work consulting and marketing clients involved in sports, TV, fashion, social networking, film and corporate business.

DESIGNER COMMENTS:

This one was very tricky to come up with. The request was to make a unique Flash site, with NO graphics. Text only. No logos, no pictures, no video. Just text.
So, considering that I'm learning 3D Flash, I decided to experiment with the possibilities of 3D text. What you see is the result.
