My contribution to the "Harmony of a Hunter" album, this is an arrangement of the "Vs. Parasite Queen" theme from Metroid Prime, originally by Kenji Yamamoto and Koichi Kyuma. Not sure what to call this genre... aggressive ambient funk, something like that? I dunno, it was inspired by my chillout composer colleague Xerxes, and then ramped up a notch. Either way, I've enjoyed the Metroid Prime soundtrack since I first heard it, so paying it homage was fun, and I recommend you check out the full free album Harmony of a Hunter, lots of groovy tracks on it!
